There will be no makeup days for the two days lost because of inclement weather, Varnett Superintendent Dr. Margaret Stroud has announced.
The Texas Education Agency granted an exemption waiver for schools in the Houston and surrounding areas for the days missed on April 18-19.
"I commend school system leaders for their swift response to ensure the safety of students, teachers and campus staff," said Commissioner of Education Mike Morath.
Harris County was one of several counties Gov. Greg Abbott declared a state of disaster. The TEA said it will work with the individual districts on additional options.
