A field trip our students will never forget

Our SW Pre-K students had a chance to get up close and personal with nature.

Mrs. Cheyne Brown, our campus director, scheduled a field trip to visit The Bayou Wildlife Zoo in Alvin. It was more than just a field trip; it was a Safari-like adventure.

She wanted this field trip to be a fun and valuable learning experience. The idea behind the trip was to help students meet academic goals and develop their vocabulary which in turn supports reading.  Our students were able to see all the different exotic animals that call The Bayou Wildlife Zoo their home.  We were face to face with the animals from all over the world and our students were able to touch and feed a variety of endangered species.

The tour guides explained to us that the animals are from 19 different countries, including places like Africa, Asia, Australia and North and South America.

We want to take this time to thank all of our SW Pre-K parents & our transportation team who volunteered and supported our Pre-K staff & students.  We had 228 who attended and it was a trip our students will never forget.
