Varnett's superintendent Dr. Margaret Stroud said, “School rankings for the Varnett campuses are important because they give our teachers, staff and students the recognition they deserve for coming together as a family to create an atmosphere of learning. I am proud of all we have been able to accomplish – especially in the last few years.”

Dr. Stroud added:  “In spite of the good feelings these ratings generate, we keep our sights on the individual students. The love of learning our teachers are able to generate is our proudest accomplishment and prepares our students for a lifetime of learning and growing.”

The Varnett Public School serves more than 1600 students and most qualify for free- and reduced-price meals and scholarship assistance because they come from low-income families.
