Nearly 200 parents attended the Family Literacy Night event hosted by The Varnett School Southwest.
They were greeted with free books donated by Half Price Books and lots of entertainment.
The event held on November 17, 2021, featured performances from Varnett's cheerleading team, representation from the Houston Public Library, games, face-painting, food and raffles. The theme was "Wild About Reading" with camouflage and safari hats.
