Southwest PreK-4 students graduate to the theme of “Explore, Dream, Discover”

A near-capacity crowd witnessed the graduation of 149 Pre-K4 students during a festive ceremony at Stafford Civic Center Thursday, May 31, 2012.

Dressed in yellow graduation gowns, the students marched in from three aisles to their seats at the front of the center to the applause of parents and Varnett staff. Before the students received their certificates, representing the passageway to kindergarten next school year, they gave lively song and dance performances on a colorfully decorated stage.

Ms. Charlene Roberts was the mistress of ceremony and Pre-K district director Melissa Cluff and Southwest Campus director Twilet Alexander greeted the students and delivered the diplomas as each student’s name was called.

The graduation song, "The World's Greatest," gave tribute to the parents, who have been active participants in their children’s education and extracurricular activities. Miss Cluff congratulated the students for their achievements and thanked the parents and staff for a job well done.
