The Varnett Pre-K Department celebrated the 100th day of school on Thursday, February 6, 2014.

Students had been preparing for the 100th day since the start of the school year by counting each day of school. Counting to 100 is a big accomplishment for the three- and four-year olds, so they were excited when they were able to finally reach this day. Some students learned to count by 10’s to 100.

Teachers and students celebrated the day by doing various crafts and math activities, all surrounding the number 100. Most classes had students bring in a 100th-day project to show what they have learned.  Students brought in 100 items they collected and counted with their parents' help to represent the number; others made posters that showed 100 items. In one case, students wrote their names 100 times.

The children were able to show their creativity and artitistic flare by displaying 100 items in a unique way. We all agree that our Varnett Pre-K is definitely 100 days smarter!
