Congratulations to Mrs. Michele Colbert and Ms. Laquita White, who have been named Teacher of the Month and Teacher's Aide of the Month, respectively, at Southwest Pre-K.
Mrs. Colbert has been teaching for six years. She has always had a passion for working with kids. At a later stage in her life she decided to go back to school to make it official. She has been with The Varnett Public School for four years.
Mrs. Colbert shows great leadership skills, among her many talents of being such an awesome person inside and out. Her classroom mission statement is to provide a safe, caring and positive atmosphere in order to promote an energetic passion for learning.
She also promotes a learning environment that will nurture students’ minds and curiosity to prepare them for kindergarten.
Ms. White has been with The Varnett Public School for more than six years. She has worked with every grade level Varnett has to offer. Her hard work and dedication never goes unnoticed. She is the solid foundation that holds every classroom together.
Ms. White will continue to go above and beyond to make sure that her kids are getting all the necessary materials to be successful not only in school but in life.
