Parents and staff at the Early Childhood campus came together for the third straight year for a friendly game of kickball. The parents won again, 13 to 7, just as they had prevailed the previous two years, 21 to 4 and 13 to 9, respectively.
However, the score didn’t matter because the event was designed to raise money for supplies, with each participant donating $3.
This event attracted 28 parents to The Varnett School Southwest playground. Varnett's mission statement, among other things, is to increase meaningful parental engagement.
The rules of kickball are similar to that of baseball. However, instead of hitting a baseball, a kickball player kicks a rubber ball before running the bases.
It was good old-fashioned fun and we thank the parents for taking the time to participate.
