The Varnett Public School celebrated Thanksgiving early by serving a holiday-style lunch Thursday throughout the district.
With parents in some cases joining their children for a shared meal, food service dished up turkey/dressing, green beans, yams, roll, fruit and milk. And at The Varnett School Southwest, the campus raffled off a turkey and a ham (picture at bottom right) for a couple of lucky families.
As noted by teachhub.com, one of the best aspects of Thanksgiving is the opportunity to give to others. Not only will individuals benefit from the giver's generosity, but the students benefit from learning the positive aspects of giving back to the community.
The Varnett family wishes everybody a Happy Thanksgiving and a safe Thanksgiving week. Remember, Varnett will be closed the week of Nov. 19.
