Director's Message

Dear Parents and Families,

Happy autumn!

As the leaves continue to fall and the weather begins to change, so is our way of doing things on our campus. We have worked really hard to have another amazing school year at The Varnett Public School Early Childhood Campus. We have successfully completed the first six weeks of the 2020- 2021 school year.  Thank you for your patience as we continue to make adjustments to provide students with the safest environment possible. Students have made an exceptional transition from their homes to the campus. All of our students have adjusted well and are making new friends.

We have a full year ahead with plenty of unknowns. Our goal is to keep students and staff healthy and it will take a team effort to make this happen. Our campus is a busy, happy and creative place for your child to play and learn. Families and staff form partnerships that enable your child to develop positive self-esteem, new skills and a life- long love of learning.

Our staff share a common goal to provide a loving, safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for your child. A program has been built to meet the needs of all of our students. Students are exposed each week to activities that promote positive self-esteem, expand their knowledge and expression skills and lay the foundation for reading, math and science.

I would like to thank our families for supporting us during this time as we learn a new way of doing things. Our teachers have worked very hard to make sure they provide engaging lessons and support families as we transition to a digital learning environment. With that being stated, it is very important for us to stay connected. There are multiple ways to communicate with us. I would like to recommend updating your contact information with our front desk by calling 713.726.7690. We communicate through Parent Square and Class Dojo. It is also very important that you daily monitor our website, varnett.org, for important updates and information.

Thank you for choosing the Early Childhood Campus.

Respectfully,
Mrs. Cheyne Brown
Districtwide Director of Early Childhood Education
